Chapter 15 The Disappearance of Jill

1. What happened to Jill from her friends’ viewpoint? What did they feel like when Jill disappeared?

From Jill’s friend’s viewpoint, Jill was suddenly disappeared from a small hole. And because of the scream that she shouts before Jill disappeared, they thought Jill was captured by enemies. They were sad and felt angry about themselves for sending a little brave girl to the unknown hole.

2. What had really happened to Jill?

What really happened to Jill was, first, Jill couldn’t realize where she was and what was going on, but as soon as she saw the moonlight and starlights, she found herself poking out her head in the middle of the snow dancing celebration. She asked Narnians to help her out and more than dozens of hand helped her to get out from the underground. She told the Narnians that her friends and Prince Rillian is under that hole and as soon as they heard that, they started digging the hole.

3. Why didn’t anyone doubt who Prince Rilian was?

Some Narnians saw the Prince when he was younger, but even though he become pale and dusty, he had a Prince-like atmosphere that he can’t hide. Therefore, everyone immediately realized as soon as they saw the Prince.

4. What did Prince Rilian talk about while the children slept? What did it mean?

The Prince told his adventures to the Narnians while the children slept. He told how his mother the Queen died and he got enchanted by the Witch from the North. He also told the Witch’s plan to destroy the Narnia by making an under-road to the middle of the Narnia with a puppet Prince. Lastly, he told to the people that how the Witch made a treaty with the bad Giants for good relationships. And the oldest dwarf among them said: “that those Northern Witches mean the same thing, but in every age, they have a different plan for getting it.”

Reflection

This chapter was the warmest chapter in this book so far because of these written reasons. First, the finish of the journey made me feel safe and warm. When the kids arrived at the Narnia, it was like the middle of a Fall and the weather was still hot. However, when the kids finished their journey, the season changed to Winter and the four travellers finally finished their journey and be secured from any dangers. Second, even though the background weather was cold, the atmosphere of the characters of Narnian was enough cheerful and warm to relief. Lastly, in general, it provides us with the happy and dreamlike vibe of Christmas Eve. Or maybe a return of the lost Prince was a Christmas gift that the author wanted to express. Because of those reasons, this chapter was the warmest chapter in this book.
